Written and Directed by Philip Gates Adapted from the work of Andy Warhol
This is the online dramaturgical casebook/research website for A/B Machines, written by Philip Gates and adapted from Andy Warhol, presented at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Fall 2018. On this site you will find research directly related to the show: a biography of Andy and analysis about his lasting legacy, information about the major sources from which we get the text of A/B Machines, and a glossary defining and/or providing pronunciation for terms and concepts used in the piece. Underlined pieces of text are links directly to my sources, which can be used for further reading, or to find general further information.
Since this is a new work, and will be changing throughout rehearsal, this website is a living document. I will be adding to it throughout the process, so please check back in regularly for new information. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you would like something researched specifically and added to the site. A form to contact me appears at the bottom of each page on this site, as well as on the Contact Me page linked above!
I'm looking forwarding to working with you all, and can't wait to get started!
